TutorialsManaging API Keys

Managing API Keys

Learn how to create and manage API keys for RAD Security

API Key Types

RAD Security offers two types of API keys:

  1. Generic Key - Use this for general API calls. It provides comprehensive read and write privileges.

  2. Cloud Key - This is restricted to cloud registrations with RAD.

API Key Provisioning

Navigate to Settings → Access Keys to manage your API keys.

The interface shows your current keys with identifiers, creation dates, and last activity information. You can delete keys via the trash icon.

Creating a New Key

  1. Select New Key in the top right to open the "Add Access Key" window
  2. Provide the following information:
    • Access Key Name - A unique identifier you assign to the key
    • Key Type - Select either generic or cloud

Upon creation, you will receive:

  • Key Id - A uniquely generated string
  • Secret Key - A uniquely generated string

The secret key is only displayed once and cannot be retrieved later. If you misplace the secret key, you'll need to create a new one.
